10 things to do after 50!  Things to try, because you are never too old!

We have made a list of 10 things that you may want to try, some are big and may require some savings and planning. Other things on the list require your time and effort. No matter what, we think there is at least one thing on the list that may appeal to you:

10 things to do after 50:

1. Give something away. If you have something that you are going to leave someone after you pass away; why wait? Could you give it to them now? It may be nice to give it to them while you are around, so you can share it with them.

2. Visit one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Heck, visit ALL of them  if you have the time, money and desire!

3. Visit one the The 7 wonders of the world. Again, visit them all if you have the means and the desire.

4. Write your autobiography. Go ahead and tell your story. Take time to write about your childhood. How you met your spouse. The best concert you ever went to. What was your first job and how much did you get paid?  What was it like when you were growing up? Is there a funny story that you have been keeping to yourself? Write it down, even if you don’t share it with anyone until after you’re gone.  We bet your children and grandchildren would love to really know who you were when you were younger.

5. Fly somewhere first class. Chances are you will never want to go back to coach again, but you have earned it. It makes flying somewhere so much more enjoyable.

6. Go on a date. If you are married or have a long term partner, ask them out. Go on a real date like you did when you were first getting to know each other. Plan out an evening that your partner would truly enjoy. If you are single and there is someone that you want to get to know better, ask them out for coffee. If you are feeling more adventurous try a dating app for older singles. Even put in your profile that going on a date is on your 50 after 50 list!

7. Test drive an expensive sports car. Be aware that some of those fancy cars are hard to get in and out of.

8. Indulge your curiosity. We left this one wide open because it should be what you are curious about.

9. Learn to draw.  You don’t need to become an artist. Learning to draw can make you take time to look at the world around you in a different way. When you take time to learn to draw you will also reap other benefits, such as improving your memory and your mood.

 10. Make a 50 after 50 List! Why stop with trying 10 things after 50? You have time to have a lot more firsts, or revisit things you used to love. Some things may be frivolous or daring, but why not try something new especially if it is something that you have always wanted to do? It doesn’t matter how much time it takes to do, after all this part of your life is your time; embrace it. If you find something you love, take the rest of your life to master it.  Like trying to learn a new language or mastering your new found love of drawing. Or embrace saying “yes” to a variety of new adventures, just do something for you.

At first trying new things can be hard, but the more you try new things the more enjoyable they become. Once you vary your routine and step out of your comfort zone you will rediscover the whole world is out there waiting for you. Go be a part of it.
